Mind-Body
Medicine Package

A tailored four-session package to assess your lifestyle, sexual, reproductive or women’s health issues holistically, get more 1:1 time with a Specialist GP and gain clear next steps.

This is about you having the time and space to ask questions, share concerns and gain a deeper understanding of the women’s, sexual or reproductive health issues you’re facing.

In this package, we’ll focus on how the mind and body can work together – knowing that your relationship with nutrition, your body, your sex life and relationships matter just as much as your iron levels or thyroid function.

So we can dig deeper into issues, explore practical skills to manage stress, emotions and symptoms and make a plan for you to continue on with clear next steps.

What is it?

A tailored-to-you package that blends medical considerations, in-depth advice, mind-body connection and lifestyle support.

So you walk away empowered by a holistic assessment that honours all of you.

Dr Ashlea Broomfield, a Coffs Harbour GP who specialises in sex, body image and nutrition, is lying on her stomach writing in a notebook.

Who is this for?

This package is for anyone who is searching for a less rushed, more holistic assessment of their health and wellbeing – from an experienced and qualified practitioner who has further training in women’s, sexual and mental health support.

You might be struggling with something specific like perimenopause, low libido or chronic tiredness.

You might be feeling unsure about a health diagnosis and want a more rounded, whole-person assessment.

Or you might just be sick of not feeling like your best self and are looking for ways to find more pleasure, energy and vitality in life.

Whatever challenges you’re facing, this is a chance to understand all the pieces of your health puzzle and confidently move forward with a clear plan.

If you’re happy to, I’ll share my assessment and report with your regular GP for continued care.

What does ‘holistic’ mean in health?

Holistic medicine recognises that many factors can influence our health and happiness, and as such, considers you as a whole person, instead of just treating the symptoms of one illness/issue.

How these sessions work

  • We’ll explore your personal health history—physical, mental, and emotional—and discuss any specific challenges you’re facing. We'll discuss what I think is happening and what we need to look into. I'll also provide a comprehensive overview of recommended tests, assessments or further referrals.

    90 minutes
    $600 (rebate $197.90)

If you want to chat about STI screening, sexual health or reproductive consultations, we can have our initial conversation over video consultation if you prefer. You’ll only be eligible for this if you don’t live nearby. In this case, the rebate is $122.15 rather than $197.90.

  • In our second session, we’ll focus on cultivating greater awareness of the mind-body connection through practical techniques such as mindfulness, breathing exercises, and body awareness practices.

You’ll have the opportunity to learn new skills to better manage stress, emotions, and physical symptoms—and we’ll discuss how to incorporate these tools into your daily life.

I recommend session two takes place a fortnight after session one.

    60 minutes
    $400 (rebate $197.90)

If you prefer tele-health only appointments, rebates are different.

  • By this session, you will probably have your test results and/or finished any assessments. We’ll review those together and discuss how they inform your treatment plan.

Together, we’ll use all of this information to create a holistic path forward that’s made for you—whether that’s lifestyle changes, an outline of medical interventions, mind-body therapy, or specific mental health support.

This also includes a summary handover letter to your nominated GP so they are still 'in the loop'.

This is not a cookie cutter treatment plan — it is completely tailored to you, your challenges, lifestyle and health goals.

I recommend session three takes place a week or fortnight after session two.

    60 minutes
    $400 (rebate $197.90)

If you prefer tele-health only appointments, rebates are different.

  • We’ll reflect on your progress, address any questions or concerns, and celebrate your wins. This is also a chance to discuss ways to maintain your wellbeing.

If you feel you’d benefit from additional sessions or check-ins, we can discuss a plan for continued care.

I recommend session four takes place a month after session three.

    60 minutes
    $400 (rebate $197.90)

If you prefer tele-health only appointments, rebates are different.

  • As often happens, you might come in for support with one issue, and after thorough investigations, tests and conversation, find that there are many contributing factors.

This is the case with many patients.

One of the common things I hear is “I feel tired all the time”. In a situation like this, in the first session, we might:

    • Explore your health history, lifestyle and relationships. This could reveal possible diagnosis, challenges within your relationships and/or stress at work.

    • Discuss how stress impacts your energy levels and fatigue.

    • Request further tests to look for underlying medical issues.

In the second session, we might explore tools to manage stress, regulate your nervous system and fortify your mind and body connection.

This could include practical skills and small lifestyle changes such as regular walks in nature and breathing or embodiment exercises.

We could also talk about communication and practical exercises you could use with significant people in your life.

By your third session, test results would be in and could show an iron deficiency or a thyroid function problem.

In this case, I would make recommendations for treatment and suggestions for ongoing care. I will also update your usual GP of any results or recommendations. This would be part of your ongoing treatment plan which also included lifestyle changes and practical mind-body exercises.

Your fourth session would be a chance to check, see how things are going and make any adjustments as needed. When making changes to your lifestyle, these types of checks can support you to stay on track.

The Mind-Body Medicine Package can support you to understand your health holistically and empower you with a clear path forward by:

  • Offering committed 1:1, support with a specialist GP, Sexologist, Mind-Body Therapist, Eating Disorder Clinician and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner – without feeling rushed or like you aren’t being seen for the whole person you are.

  • Assessing your health in a holistic way, where your mind, body and social, emotional and spiritual wellbeing are considered in your treatment plan.

  • Developing practical skills to manage stress, anxiety, and physical symptoms, including any lifestyle changes that suit your goals.

  • Creating a tailored-to-you plan to improve your vitality and overall wellbeing, with clear tools and next steps so you feel confident moving forward.

Please keep in mind that this package is a chance for you to have more time to look deeper into the challenges you’re facing, but it doesn’t replace seeing your regular GP. You’ll still need to see your GP for ongoing treatment as needed.
